The River Road between
Lajitas and Presidio is considered by many to be the most scenic drive
in Texas. There are several points of interest along the drive, including:
the Big Hill, two movie sets and historic Fort Leaton.

Historic Fort Leaton is
a state park located on the
outskirts of Presidio,
just to the east along the river road.

"The Other Movie
Set"
Big Bend Ranch State Park, Texas
Unmarked and virtually
unseen from the road, this tiny movie set is located just a few miles east
of Redford, and is accessible via a short dirt road. You'll want to ask
at Fort Leaton for specific instructions for finding it.

The view from Big Hill
is nothing less than spectacular. There is a pullout at the top of the
hill and a short trail that leads to better views of the river..

for old Smiley who sits along the side of the road.
